How to download the Handler's Screen
– Thu, Mar 31, 2016 at 05:24:56 PM
If your pledge included the Handler's Screen and Quick-Start Guide, log in to BackerKit and find it in your digital downloads.
(In yesterday's update I said to watch for an email from BackerKit for instructions to download the digital copies of the Handler's Screen and Quick-Start Guide. I have no idea why I said that. BackerKit won't send any such email. Sorry for the confusion.)
By the way, have you seen what our friends at Atlas are up to with Unknown Armies?
Need to Know: The Handler's Screen and Quick-Start Rules
over 8 years ago

Backers,
Watch your inbox for download instructions from BackerKit for Delta Green: Need to Know, the Handler's Screen and Quick-Start Rules. The download includes an updated PDF of the quickstart book and PDFs of the screen itself:
- Full-length (44" wide) for the full experience
- Individual panels for home printing
- "Printer-friendly" versions of the screen interiors with a little less background art
I expect to send it to the presses this week. The physical product will be a four-panel rigid board screen, each panel 8.5" tall by 11" wide.
In the meantime we're about to wrap up layout on the Agent's Handbook and we're still plugging away at the Case Officer's Handbook.
The Case Officer's Handbook includes chapters that are foundational for all the other books in this game line, so it needs to be final before we can get far in those. But we're all looking forward to that day. PISCES, campaigns against the Fate and the King in Yellow, the secrets of the Deep State -- we have a lot of great games coming.
Thank you for supporting Delta Green.
Handlers needed! Can you run Delta Green at Gen Con?
– Fri, Mar 11, 2016 at 11:03:50 PM
We're looking for reliable Handlers to run Delta Green simulations (games! it's only a game) at Gen Con 2016 in Indianapolis this August.
Run a published Delta Green scenario like Last Things Last, Lover in the Ice, Kali Ghati, the upcoming Star Chamber or Observer Effect, or a classic like PX Poker Night, Music from a Darkened Room, A Victim of the Art, Night Floors, The Last Equation; or a scenario from Delta Green, Countdown, Eyes Only, or The Unspeakable Oath; or a scenario of your very own.
Volunteer game moderators get store credit redeemable at the Arc Dream Publishing booth, not to mention the personal thanks of the writers and designers. And if you run enough games, you get a free badge.
Please register your games here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1iNbB6nDIj4M9QDThOuDz0kfL5rZUKq1UYwA-9WPyK94/viewform
And if you've already registered to run a Delta Green game at Gen Con, let us know! We'd like to list it along with the rest.
Thanks. Be seeing you.
Delta Green: Need to Know
– Fri, Feb 26, 2016 at 05:59:04 PM
This is Shane Ivey from Arc Dream Publishing. I have exciting news.
DELTA GREEN: NEED TO KNOW is the official title of the Delta Green Handler's screen and quick-start rulebook. The rulebook is available as a PDF—free to everyone—at this link:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6vc7fuxg5n5jyfd/Delta%20Green%20Need%20to%20Know.pdf?dl=0
(That link is also available through BackerKit for backers' convenience.)
That's right, it's free to everyone. Share it anywhere and everywhere.
The other half of Need to Know, the Handler's screen, will be available soon in PDF to backers who paid for it and for purchase by everyone else.
Bonus Downloads
Open License
With the release of Need to Know, we are releasing the core rules for Delta Green: The Role-Playing Game under the Open Gaming License. That means you can use the rules that we developed for Delta Green in your own projects, free or commercial.
Before anyone asks, that's just for the rules. The Delta Green property itself—characters, organizations, names, anything specifically part of the Delta Green setting—is explicitly not part of the Open Gaming License. Publishing anything to do with Delta Green requires permission from the Delta Green Partnership.
Find details in the first few pages of Need to Know.
Other Downloads
In BackerKit, we've changed the way downloads will be distributed to backers. Each backer gets a list of available downloads and links to download them. That allows us to update files more easily than when we distributed them directly through BackerKit.
For example, I have updated the PDF for the scenario "Kali Ghati" with a few corrections and clarifications. Log in to BackerKit and find its download link to get the current version.
Coming Up
The production schedule is a little behind where I'd hoped to be by now. That is unlikely to surprise anyone who's been following Delta Green over the years.
HANDLER'S SCREEN: In layout now. I hope to release its PDF to backers next week. Expected Need to Know physical delivery date: May. Expected retail publication date: June.
AGENT'S HANDBOOK: In final editing and layout now. I hope to release its PDF to backers in March. Expected physical delivery date: May. Expected retail publication date: June.
DELTA GREEN: THE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: That's the official title of the core rulebook of the line. We previously referred to it as the Case Officer's Handbook to reduce confusion with the Agent's Handbook, which is the first half of the core book. The writers are still hammering away at the Handler's chapters. That's the biggest production bottleneck right now. Those chapters must be FINAL before we can use them to shape all the sourcebooks to come. We're working on those, but the core book has priority until it's finished and we're confident that it's right.
NEXT: Watch this space for the next downloads, "Observer Effect" and "The Star Chamber," coming very soon.
Updates and 'Observer Effect' playtesting
almost 9 years ago

With the horrors of the holidays behind us, it's time for the horrors of Delta Green to return.
'Kali Ghati' update
On BackerKit we just uploaded a revised PDF of "Kali Ghati," the Afghanistan-set Delta Green scenario by Shane Ivey. It has a few minor changes that make it worth re-downloading. Look for a new digital distribution called "Kali Ghati v2."
'Quick-Play' update
The quick-play rules have been updated to reflect a few minor changes in the core rules.
'Observer Effect' playtesting
Would you playtest "Observer Effect," a Delta Green scenario by Shane Ivey? Read the requirements and sign up here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UwnJFR9pmXvhp8TyHYqhEwqzBW1E5jHPTrLzXY7Qvh8/viewform?usp=send_form
We know the deadline is a little tight, but Shane's workload took a hit in early January with a sickness in the family and we're digging out now.
And we hope you have a group that wants to playtest a LOT of Delta Green and FAST, because...
Where Things Stand
Here are this quarter's releases.
AGENT'S HANDBOOK: In the last round of revisions and editing. Our friend Simeon has been hard at work on cover and page designs in consultation with Shane Ivey, Dennis Detwiller, and John Scott Tynes. It'll be in layout any day now.
'REDACTED—FUSION CENTERS': In editing. ETA: Late January in PDF.
HANDLER'S SCREEN AND QUICK-START GUIDE: Going to layout as soon as Simeon's ready for it. ETA: Late February in PDF, April in print.
'THE STAR CHAMBER': In post-playtest revisions and editing. ETA: February in PDF.
'REDACTED—THE COLLECTORS': In editing. ETA: February in PDF.
'WORMWOOD ARENA': In development. ETA: Playtest signup in January; PDF publication in March.
'REDACTED—BIG DATA': In editing. ETA: March in PDF.
'VISCID': In development. ETA: Playtest signup in January; PDF publication in March.
Dennis' New Gig
Dennis Detwiller has joined Monte Cook Games for his day job. Monte and company are old friends of the Delta Green team and big fans of Delta Green, so it's a perfect fit. We're very excited to see what he and MCG create together. Especially since getting out of video games will mean even more time for Dennis to work on Delta Green.
